Weadock Software has been creating software to help radiologists for 20 years. The owner is a radiologist and uses the product daily. If something else is needed, it gets added!
RadPix Teaching File System, Weadock Software, LLC, Ann Arbor, MI, USA was developed using MIRC software as its basis. The MIRC Teaching File System is open source software that was developed by the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) over the past decade. The system includes a webserver, DICOM receiver, and client software for viewing cases. The MIRC document schema, is the de facto standard for storing radiological teaching files. It is an XML-based technology, that includes information about what information is stored in a teaching file. The importance of this as a standard is that different teaching file systems can communicate between each other, in similar fashion to how DICOM devices communicate. There is support for including DICOM files, text, annotations, videos, and other different files in teaching files.
RadPix extends the functionality of RSNA’s MIRC system, with a new user interface, and support for tablets and phones, in addition to personal computers. The client software runs on modern HTML 5 web browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge and Internet Explorer. A DICOM viewer was also added, with support for changing window and level settings. Export of images as JPGs, publication-quality TIFF files, videos (.mp4), and as PowerPoint files and PowerPoint image stacks was also included.
