Protected Health Information
There are 3 options available for working with Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Never Save
- PHI is removed from DICOM images when DICOM images are received and saved.
- PHI is never saved to the server’s disk.
- Draft Only
- PHI is removed from DICOM images when DICOM images are received and saved.
- PHI is encrypted and stored in the RadPix data files. Only the case authors can see the PHI.
- When the case is made complete, the PHI is removed from the RadPix data files.
- Save Always
- PHI is removed from DICOM images when DICOM images are received and saved.
- PHI is encrypted and stored in the RadPix data files.
- Only Case Authors can view the PHI.
Study Date Information
The study date is stored in several of the DICOM fields. There are 4 options available for working with the Study Date.
- Never Save
- The Study Date is removed from the DICOM images whenever the DICOM images are saved.
- Study Date is never saved to the server’s disk.
- The images in the case cannot be sorted by date.
- Draft Only
- The Study Date is removed from the DICOM images whenever the DICOM images are saved.
- Study Date is always encrypted in the case.
- Only Case Authors can view the Study Date.
- When the case is made complete, the Study Date is removed form the case.
- While the case is in draft mode, images can be sorted by Study Date.
- Save Always
- The Study Date is removed from the DICOM images whenever the DICOM images are saved.
- Study Date is always encrypted in the case.
- Only Case Authors can view the Study Date.
- The images in the case can be sorted by date.
- Date Offset
- The Study Date is removed from the DICOM images whenever the DICOM images are saved.
- A random numerical offset (number of days) is subtracted from the Study Date and saved in the case.
- Anyone can view study date.
- The images in the case can be sorted by date.
Retaining Study Date
Note the Date/Time information at the top of these three images that were processed using the Date offset mode.
1st image – Baseline
2nd image – Baseline + 19 days
3rd image – Baseline + 4 months + 22 days.
DICOM Tag Whitelist
DICOM tag values that are “Whitelisted” retain their values after RadPix DICOM deidentification. The DICOM tags listed will be the only tags kept in DICOM files.
3 DICOM Groups retain their values, 0002, 0018 and 0028. Additional tags can be “whitelisted” or removed via configuration file. Contact info@radpix.com for more information.
