Presentations Overview

A presentation is a group of teaching file cases presented to the audience in a way similar to a PACS setting, but with interactive components.

Several features of RadPix Presentations align with current educational and training concepts. Students scroll through a stack of images on their own device, i.e. laptop, iPad, or smart phone. The images may be from studies from different dates and modalities similar to a PACS setting.

In a typical “hot seat” radiology format, a student describes the findings and comes up with a differential diagnosis. However, this only tests a single student. However, by adding multiple choice questions to the case and having all students answer, the educational interaction extends to the entire audience. After all students have answered the question(s), a single student can then describe the findings and provide a diagnosis. Gamification can also be added by showing the audience a leaderboard cased on number of correct answers. These interactive features have been shown to promote better engagement of the audience.

An optional feature allows the student to have the ability to window and level the images, although the window and level are typically set correctly on the initial image load.

All annotated image is bookmarked so the user can quickly find the images of interest.

Aggregate anonymous audience responses can be shown to verify understanding of the concepts. If the audience does very well on a set of questions, additional time may not be needed for explanations, but if most of the student answers are incorrect or scattered across several answers, more time can be spent discussing the case.
